Furnished Suites in Houston, TX?

Hotel Rates 2 Comments »
ask2manyqs asked:

Anybody knows of any furnished suites/apartments in Houston, TX?

I need to stay there for a month or so, but I am looking for something cheaper than, say, Residence Inn, Extended Stay America, Oakwood, Hawthorn Suites, AmeriSuites, Candlewood Suites, etc.

I am looking for something along the lines of “Budget Suites of America” [www.budgetsuites.com] where they have a weekly rate of about $199.00 in Dallas and San Antonio, TX.

Any Texas natives know of anything like that? Something that isn’t a big, expensive hotel chain? Preferably not infested with roaches/rodents or in a rough neighborhood…

And yes, I’m checking Craigslist every day.

Thanks!!

Norma

I plan on going there in about 2 more weeks. I have been looking at staying at the Hotel Derek, Sofitel. What are some good, clean, nice area hotels that wouldnt cost me a arm & a leg? Shopping, dining? Last, but not least the night life? I will be there for the weekend.

Multiple layover and flight change question?

Hotel Rates 3 Comments »
Ansela J asked:

If you have a flight with multiple layovers (Birmingham, UK to Paris, France to Houston, Texas to San Diego, California for example) and flight changes how does that work?

Do you have to collect your luggage, check in and go through customs again at every stage, or are you automatically transferred between flights at each airport?

Also, if you have an overnight layover, is it possible/allowed to spend the entire time in the airport or do you have to find a hotel?

We are a 25/26 year old couple with our two sons (ages 4 & 5) and would like to take them somewhere only for a weekend in February or March this year. We have about $1000 budget. This will need to include hotel stay as well. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Oh and BTW, we live about 30 mins from Galveston and about 40 from Houston, so those two are out completely.
