What are some nice hotels on the outskirts of San Francisco?

I am visiting San F in November but there is a conference in the city during my travel dates so a lot of the nicer places within my budget are booked up. Are there any small, nice areas where I can find a nice hotel within the $200/ night range. I’mopen to hotels, B & Bs or whatever.

There are lots of nice hotels in and around SF. You might try hotels around the San Francisco airport there’s a Hyatt Regency, Wyndham, Marriott, Embassy Suites. All should have “reasonable rates” and clean comfortable facilities. The airport is about 30 minutes south from “the city” by car, depending on traffic. Allow more time if you are going during morning or evening commute hours. The airport also has BART (subway) access so you could avoid some of the traffic that way.

Hilton is a really good hotel to me. If you come to visit you should walk on the Golden Gate Bridge.
