You search on google as hotel and where about you are looking it will come up with all shorts of deal as well as some last minutes deal which are very cheap/reasonable. Spartan

Before Memorial Day is the best time to go. Try the Hilton Chicago, Sheraton, Emabassy suites (includes hot breakfast),

Nice is a relative term….for me, nice is no bugs; some other folks want solid gold fixtures to be nice.
First…avoid the Congress Hotel at all costs…is cheap…one word…BUGS.
In the loop (downtown business area) you should first check out the Club Quarters. They have very basic ‘business’ rooms that are small but clean and safe. On weekends, they are even cheaper since most of their trade is business folks.
Watch for specials at the web sites for the Hilton and the Hyatt.
The Hilton Garden Suites at State / Grand is very reasonable; close to public transit to around the city.
Further north, I like the City Suites Chicago on Belmont near Clark, and the Willows hotel on Surf; both are north of downtown and near action in Lakeview / Lincoln Park.
Good luck

I stayed in a really nice hotel there the millennium hotel Chicago on rush street, the key is you have to book the stay on hotels.com or priceline and you will get the best rate I stayed there for only 100.00/night which was reasonable. I hope this helps you. It is a 3 star hotel just to give you an idea of what you should have to pay for fewer stars. The key is bidding on-line for the hotel room though.

Most hotels downtown are pricy. But if you DO go to hotwire or expedia or something similar, you might find those same hotels at very cheap prices, up to 70% cheaper.
The more the date approaches, the cheaper the hotel.
