Oh, that is absolutely the case, which is why I have moved off-strip and downtown. Harrah’s and MGM/Mirage own almost all of the strip, at least the center and south end, which is definitely bad for the consumer. Smaller companies like Boyd, Station Casinos, etc…have lower room rates and are far more generous with comps than the conglomorates than own the strip. If you want good rates on the strip these days, you are limited to the North end (Sahara, Riviera, New Frontier, Stratophere)

Corporate America has officially ruined Vegas. Everything that used to be cheap to draw people into the Casino is now ridiculously over priced! They now have this attitude that everyone will come in anyway, so lets make revenue on EVERYTHING! buffets are $20+, shows are $100+, rooms are $100+. Most of this sh*t used to be free or next to nothing. They are running wild! I call shenanigans on all of them. I shouldn’t say all of them cause there is only of company that owns them all anyway. I thought monopolies were illegal?!

Absolutely correct. I moved here 15 years ago and everything was cheap then.
Now it is just as you said, bean counters run the place and you pay for everything.
The reason they are still in business is people continue to come here.
