Cheap Air and Hotel Rates?
Hotel RatesStephz0r S asked:
I’m planning a trip to Honolulu, HI, for early to mid- January. It’s been difficult for me because I have no previous traveling experience (i.e., never flown, never covered such a long distance! *I live in NJ*). All of my search results online have been similar, plus I don’t have anything in the way of student discount or frequent flier mile privileges. Does anyone have any helpful references, information, or experiences they can share with me? All suggestions are appreciated.

I would contact your local travel agent to see what’s available for you and the rates. Also, you can check the travel websites…. travelocity.com, hotels.com, orbitz.com, etc.

Priceline tends to be the cheapest out of all the major sources (Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, etc.). This is like the only way I purchase tickets. However rare, sometimes the airline itself will trump outside sources in the saving department. JetBlue, to name one, is notorious for crazy cheap deals! Please, try everything in your power to steer clear of Delta contrary to as mentioned earlier…they tend to be cheap, BUT at the cost of other things! i.e., scary looking aircraft both inside and out (makes me wonder about the planes electrical status if they can’t keep up with all other aspects of appearance)! I’ve flown just about everything, and they are by FAR the worst!! There’s just no need to put yourself through the torment of sheer uncomfortability when other lines offer just as good if not better savings. (sorry for the bash Taylor R)

check all major airline websites-Delta, American Airlines, Allegiant etc
Mostly all major discount websites will do a hotel and airline package.
Or you can try a major travel company like AAA. They might be able to help you a lot!!!! As for airlines I would recommend Delta and Allegiant I have flown them both and had nothing but good experiences. My parents flew American Airlines and they didn’t like it as much as Delta or Allegiant. I wish you luck!!!!
As for what to do in Hawaii, I have heard that snorkeling is amazing!!! And they also have some type of zip-line course which sounds like so much fun!

Michelle was right on with cheapoair.com
I’m flying to South Korea from Cleveland with my 2 children, and the total airfare was only $1500 for all three of us (one way). It was about $200 per ticket LESS than places like expedia and travelocity. Check it out. People snatch up the seats quickly though…. I found tickets for about 450 a piece, called my husband to see if he wanted me to book them, and when he said yes and I went to book it, it was already gone! Still only paid about 50 bucks more.

Most important is buy a vacation package. Buying air, car and hotel separately will cost you more $$$$ (money).
1) If you buy Air + hotel together, you will end up same price as buying a hotel separate. In my opinion stay in in waikiki area and you DONT need to spend on the car.
2) Hawaii is too expensive, (insanely), so other way would be to buy a airticket & rent a vacation condo & cook your own food to get a mix of holiday & luxury.
I think option 1 will work out best, I would say check
1) priceline.com, 2) kayak.com 3) individual airline websites (northwest, american, united, continental, delta, ATA and dont forget SOUTHWEST vacations,) 4) orbitz.com, 5) cheaptickets.com
6) look at travelzoo.com for some deals.
There is no simple answer to find the cheapest deal. Everytime it varies, usually United & American have competitive packages, since you are in NJ you may find continental package. But search them all and buy the one that suits you best.
By the way see you in hawaii, except I will be in maui & kauai
