you need to buy a bigger water bottle and you can buy a gadget that relases food everyday it attaches to the cage go to pet smart and look there. it can be done

One or two days would be fine but five days could be pushing it. It would be unreasonable to take it with you, but I would suggest that you have a friend care for it while you are gone.

I would hook up 1 big water bottle or 2 full water bottles to make sure hes never thirsty.
I would also then put in a few bowls or a large bowl of food.
5 days with all he needs won’t kill him. Make sure he also has his hamster wheel for exercise. People need to chill out shes not being abusive or mean to the hamster by doing this.

A hamster will be fine for that long. Just make sure he has plenty of food and water (if you can get an extra water bottle that would be good).

If you do leave it at home, make sure it has a lot of food, and at least 2 water bottles, in case one breaks, and it the water leaks out. That way, if that does happen, it will be okay, because there will be a second one.
I would suggest leaving it with parents or a friend.

What size cage, water bottle, food bowl do you currently have?
If you normally play with your hamsters every day & you’re planning to leave for 5 days, I say add extra toys in the cage, upgrade to a bigger water bottle, & larger food bowl.
If you have only 1 hamster, I say you need at least a 10-gallon.
It’s a misconception people have that because hamsters are small, they need small space. That’s wrong. They need space to run around & stretch too.
