I bought plane ticket to NYC in mid-December to lock in some low rates. But I’m wondering if hotel will go up as well? The one I’m looking at hasn’t raised their rates in the last month. I know if I get them last minute, that’s bad. But is it safe to wait until October or November? I’d rather wait to save a bit instead of putting it on my credit card now.

CheapTickets.com ripped me off last time by about $70 a night.

I wanna book a room at the Pechanga Hotel and Casino on Feb. 18th. I use to book at big-time websites like Orbitz, Travelocity, etc, but they’re charging a grip now. I see these smaller sites that are cheaper, but not sure if I could trust them. Anyone know any cheap hotel sites?

I’m looking for hotels in Houston, TX, and this may sound stupid, and if it does please don’t be rude, but I’m looking at rate plans, and they all say either, “Us fed govt military rt is wit” “AAA” “Business Rate” I got most of them, but does that mean that only military people can stay in those rooms, or AAA members, or people on a Business trips? Or am i limited to rooms that only stay “Standard Rate”?? I’ve never booked a hotel before.

I have used my AAA card before, and it saves me about 10% , but I am looking for something better… anyone used the Diamond club membership to get a break on hotel rates? any other services?? please share…. thanks
I am asking about paid memberships, not just web-sites like expidia.com and such…… a membership similar to AAA that is recognized by most hotels and gets me discount on top of what i can find on the internet.

Hotel business rates, just for business travellers, or can I use it for non-business stays?

vacationland asked:

Yeah, I’m frugal. I’ve noticed, when looking through hotel websites, that the ‘corporate rate’ is many times cheaper than AAA or any other discount. If I’m travelling by myself (not for business), or with my family on vacation, can I take advantage of these rates too? What would qualify someone to use these rates, and do I need to show any corporate ID (I do work for a Fortune 500 company, so I have that, but never travel on business)? I’ll save whatever I can wherever I can. Thanks.
